In general, water pipes are a poor choice for mast material. Depending on the forces involved, water pipes may survive but they are the source of much agony for numerous users.

Hi all

I'm looking to build a "short" 12m high rotatable mast to support 20m / 15m yagi

I have a snail drive gear motor on the bottom (heavy duty), have yet to source the
mast, available are 2 - 3" galvanized water pipes (heavy duty)
(I can build stuff, weld etc ...so I can make this heavy duty)

I plan to guy the mast on two levels, the question is what types of bearins to
use, and where I could buy them.

Any help would be great - this must be heavy duty as I live in a windy country.
