I imagine that cost is K9OM's deterrent and not the noise. Having a motor 
spinning at 10,000 RPM turning your antennas is a sweet sound!

The prop pitch will turn a house. But they can be loud. Some reduce the voltage 
so they don’t scream. Use rubber gaskets for isolation based on my experience. 
Nothing stronger than a prop pitch. Now using the large Prosistel with a 500 
ohm pot with a Green Heron controller from WX0B
