Maybe the rotor is working correctly but the beam was set in the wrong position to start, or possible the rotor is set to default to South, see the setup manual.

Bob,

I have been following the responses and I thought the same thing as the others that a wire
connection swap would solve it. Since you tried another control box and also a wire connection swap
to the box, and your spare rotator works properly, I guess the only thing left is the rotator
itself. I don’t understand what could be happening in the rotator that could be causing the
reverse rotation thing though. There are a couple of rotator repair sites on line Norm’s
Rotators is one that does a lot of the Ham 4’s and Tailtwister repairs and refurbs. I would
email him and see what he thinks. Of course the first thing he is going to say is the wires are
reversed, hihi.

First thanks to all who offered ideas. Yes the most logical thought

would be I did not match wires from control box to rotor. I double

checked and they were correct . Next I changed to another

spare control box. Same results. I tried a couple wire connection

swaps as suggested. I got proper indication that way but no rotation.

I have removed rotor and installed another spare and will continue

to use that. Thanks once again to all.

Well I am not sure what is happening. This is my third
    attempt

         to send this message.

I purchased a Ham 4 rotor from a sk estate (N4KG) very cheap.

I was surprised to find it worked. Unfortunately When I
    turn to

west it goes East. South goes North. The antenna does
    rotate.

I have gotten used to using reverse buttons, but was
    wondering

if there is a simple fix ?
