Phil,
The Peer FTJ-211 is a very good sealed bearing for your mast. I am using a
similar bearing on my tower. These bearings are designed for much more
loading than they will receive in our antenna rotation application. They weigh
about 8 pounds. ! They have a locking collar that counter rotates locking the
mast so
there can be no axial or vertical movement and has a grease fitting for easy
service when on the tower. I use a rubber boot above mine to protect it from
the weather.
It is the rubber cone from a vent pipe boot I got from Home Depot. Works
great. I would check the bearing out, rotate it by hand and see f you feel any
roughness.
It probably is fine.
