Since the LJ-153BA is a current production model, why not just buy the tubing
from Hy-gain?
While their ordering process can be frustrating, their tubing is reasonable.

Brad that is a tough size to find. I used to buy Ø7/16 with a 0.049 wall from
a ham in Ohio that sold 6061 tubing however he retired. I had a bunch of extra
heavy duty tips in Aruba that I gave away when I sold my station. I have found
Ø7/16 online though commercial sources but it was pricy for low quantities. You
need to purchase drawn tubing for a proper fit. Perhaps DX Engineering should
pick up this size. Hy-gain tips break easily, at least they have for me and I
only used them for temporary contest antennas. Probably the least expensive and
easiest place to buy a tip is though Hy-Gain.

Hello all,
I am rebuilding an old HyGain 153BA 3-element 15 meter monoband yagi and I
was wondering if there is a good source for the 7/16" diameter by approximately
.039" wall thickness aluminum tubing that is used for the ends of the element
half-sections?
Years ago, Texas Towers used to stock a wide variety of aluminum tubing but
on their web site I see only two sizes listed.
Thanks for any help with this!
