I would be concerned. Be careful. Your rod is way past its life span.
Call Polygon Rod - they'll tell you - 10 years life - then replace.

I have a mix of Polygon and Philly. The 3/8" Polygon is from one of the
early group buys, probably from the mid 90's. The surface of the Polygon
seems a little rough, but I've been assuming the strength is still
