THHN jacket seems to hold up well. It's just PVC but I've found it to be fairly UV resistant.

The clear nylon coating is only there to make the wire slippery so that electricians can pull it easily thru conduit.

Don't worry about it coming off in antenna applications.

I found 1000' spools of black PE covered solid #14 wire. Not much cheaper
than the Teflon #20 covered wire. I assume the PE covering will hold up
better than THHN covering. And it shouldn't shine in the sun.
