Yes, I had a tower engineered to have one set of guys anchored closer in than the other two, and closer than the Rohn guidelines. I ended up with 78' of Rohn 45G. The Rohn spec called for two levels of guys with anchors at 56' from the base. Because of proximity to a property line, one set of guys was moved in to a distance of 30' from the base. This was engineered by a Professional Engineer (also a ham). He advised the following modifications to support the closer guy anchor distance:

-Three levels of guys instead of two, at the 22', 44', and 66' foot levels.

-The short guys were increased from 1/4" EHS to 5/16" EHS.

-They guys anchor block was increased one size from the Rohn spec.

I would advise engaging a Professional Engineer to do the calculations and supply plans for permitting authorities.

-Tony, K1KP
