I am not sure that it matters but you should be aware that f the city zoning
code actually says "amateur towers are limited to 40ft" then it is an
unenforceable statute since it is preempted by Federal PRB1. An arbitrary
height restriction that does not try to accommodate the federally licensed
amateur's communication needs is not enforceable. So if you did happen to
want a self supporting 50ft tower, go for it.
