 If it was me, I would add the ropes per the manual. It's a small price to pay 
for added insurance against tip failure.

Manuals for the 204BA, 205CA, 155CA, 105CA, LP-1009A,
LP-1010A, TH5D, TH7DX, TH11DX, EXP-14, VB-64DX  and
VB-66DX manuals in my file all call for rope in elements
(monoband elements for TH5/TH7/TH11/EXP-14).

I do not have manuals for the 203BA, 153BA and 103BA so
