 Hello Jorge,
I have been using Hy-Gain monobanders, the 20, 15, and 10 meter models, for
decades. The installation of ropes in the element tips really works for their
designs. The tips are 7/16" O.D. aluminum tubing, and the ropes are 5/32"
polyester. The ropes are very lightweight, and they dampen the oscillations
enough to keep the tips from breaking.
The ropes add probably less than 1% to the weight of the yagis. The manual
instructs the ropes to be 72" long, which extend from the end of a tip
continuing inside the next larger telescoping section.
The 15 meter manual can be found at:
LJ-155CA.pdf (dxsupply.com)

Without the rope installed, the 15 meter Hy-Gain yagi tips break within a year
or so. With the rope installed, I have not had a tip break after 10 years.

 hello

I have had a problem with my M2inc antenna, 15M6DX over the years.

I has 6 or 7 times different elements tips beaking, really is
unbelievable that this happen, and seems is worst now, actually I have 3
tips broken in the last weeks

I am in a windy location, maybe the vibration is causing this.

What will be a solution for that?

I heard about a rope inside the elements, but will add weight to it

Others are using expanding foam

What do you think about that?

thanks in advance!
