I worked in Haiti in the late 90s building their first cellphone network. Each
of the cell sites was surrounded by a ten-foot high poured concrete wall.
Inside the walls we built a two-room Shack where a guard stayed 24/7. Each
guard was armed with a scatter gun to stave off copper and diesel fuel thieves.

We had an incident in Honolulu where someone tried to steal LIVE
high-voltage wiring; the guy ended up being a charred pile of ash. Bummer
for him.
