As I'm sure you know, due to coupling of the ground reflection with the antenna, the feedpoint Z of resonant half-wave dipoles varies with their height and soil conductivity.

My 20M loaded to 40M design can provide a pretty decent match on both bands to 50 or 75 ohm coax, assuming soil typical of the CA counties to which most expeditions would be traveling at the modest mounting heights of ad hoc setups.
