All good points from you, Brian, and others. I've done some simple Yagi designs using YW, optimizing for forward gain over the needed bandwidth, because that's what I need on the lower bands, and they're relatively small, because that's all I can turn between the trees in my dense redwood forest.

As to the particular 6M antennas being discussed: when I moved here 20 years ago, my QTH was pretty quiet. Now it's not, and I have strong sources in three important directions -- Asia, Europe, and South America. So my limiting factor is more often HEARING, rather than being heard. Further, on 6M, my primary interest is weak signal work, which is all concentrated within a little over 200 kHz.
