Hello reflector friends,

Short report on my Rover trip.

The Saturday afternoon slowed us down both on contacts and on travel time. We
didn't get to stop at most of the high places we had picked out. During the
storm, my six meter halo had so much ice on it, the SWR went through the roof
and was useless. Either the bands went dead around five p.m or my ice coated
HO antennas didn't want to play anymore in the storm, as I was trying to drive
down interstate 95 in Southern CT heading for NYC. We had to pull off and get
a room for the night. We did better on Sunday but felt we were pressed for
time and so again did not stop much. Oh well, made 182 contacts with 12 Rover
grids and a score of 12189. I was using bands ABCD.

I just read the message from the Grid Pirates and was laughing because I went
back to get them after 18:00 as I entered a new grid and they were gone! I was
blaming my new HO antennas, (I used all beams last year). claiming to my Roving
partner that hmmm, I hit them easily from here last year!!! BTW, the stacked HO
antennas were great! (grin).

June is just around the corner!
