Home stations...visit http://www.BEACONet.org for setup information (see the
hyperlink titled "CU2QSO" at the top.

Rovers...visit http://www.BEACONet.org and simply download UI-View/16 and follow
the helpfiles built-in to the system. You'll need a high power FM transceiver
(more RF is better...this stuff is simplex), TNC and GPS.

Remember...only ROVERS auto TX. Home stations lurk, but can manually send
messages to Rovers and manually TX their locations..."CQing".

In case you were thinking about it... (from the VHF Contesting list)

Was wondering how many contesters were planning to run Beacon net
from their contest QTH or from their rover ? It would be neat to see
how the band opens on two meters over the contest . See ya on the bands
and Have Fun "73"

Bruce,
I will be running it continually in my rover for the June contest starting
in fn10, fn11, fn01, fn11, fn12, fn02, fn03 and fn13. I have not nailed down
the times yet,, but will get them on the reflector before the contest.

Even though its another radio (plus tnc) and another application on the
computer, I plan to run it in June. However, it will not be in continuous
operation. Expected route will be Long Island, northern NJ and Hudson
Valley, NY.

I didn't see anything in my tests over the weekend, so I'll probably bring
it up again this coming weekend from FN20ut.

I will be a home station in FN03 using the system. I will NOT miss any CU2QSO
rovers within a couple of grids distant this year. I'll even be keeping a log
of the weekend and will create a movie of what I capture just to show others how
effective this system actually is. Who else will be on (especially in WNY...it
will be nice to be in a movie, won't it)? At least N2JMH/r will be in range and
I know of at least one other Rover and home station in the area with a system
(and I have the screen logs from past contests to prove it <g>).
