I asked the folks at CQ why 222Mhz was excluded from their VHF contest. The
response was that since it is a Worldwide Contest and 222 is only an amateur
band in the U.S. they couldn't include it. I'm assuming the same reasoning
holds for 70Mhz.

As far as 432 goes, it's not a VHF frequency so it's obviously excluded from
the CQ VHF contest. The irony here is that 432 and above are included in the
ARRL "VHF" contest and really shouldn't be if it's really a VHF contest. VHF
frequencies go to 300Mhz. And then of course, 222Mhz, a VHF freq. is included
in the ARRL's UHF contest. Does it seem like Newington has things all screwed
up? Certainly more so than CQ.

I'll be on from FM18ch on 6 and 2 meters for the VHF contest. I will not be
roving for this one and probably not for future contests until some rules are
changed. ( So that means, most likely, that the N8AG rover is QRT)

  GL to all es 73,
  Dave N8AG ( ex W4TXS/R es N8AG/R)
