I think the FCC did away with most if not all of those regulations years
ago.  Remember when you had to sign mobile or portable and log every
contact?  I still have a logbook around here that I carried in the car years
ago.  Still a good idea to carry a copy of your license and a copy of QST
with the contest info whenever you rove or operate portable.

Yes, I understand how to avoid suspicion, but does anyone know the specific
regulation that requires us to have a copy of our license on hand for
inspection? If I am not mistaken, if you are ever caught operating without a
copy, it is technically a violation of the law (not that it is ever really
enforced, so long as you can provide the call sign and it is indeed active).
