If you have a high performance hf rig available, why use 2 meters.
or the other way around...

I do not think there is anything commercial out there that uses a 10 
meter IF above 1296 though..
I have 222, 902 and 1296 DEMI transverter that use 10 meters.. and 2304 
that has to use 2 meters.
i use SDR computer radio for the 10meter stuff..
