And, the 144 and 432 MHz TX section uses a different PA section. So if you
loose full output on the HF portion of the rig, the radio could still function
as a fine all mode 144MHz and 432 MHz radio.

Not necessarily! An all-mode rig like that (no finals) would make an
acceptable IF for a microwave transverter stack.
