[VHFcontesting] IC 9100 on 1296

 I bought one of the first IC 9100 and have had the 1296 module since day one. 
I have used a SSB Electronic 100W PA, that actually put out ~70W. This week, I 
upgraded to a BEKO HLV 350, 300~400 watts. I think I am hearing OK. But, I have 
no intention of being an Alligator. I am now wondering if I need a preamp for 
the IC9100? Anyone have any experience with a preamp on an IC 9100?
