If you read the FCC docket, you'll no doubt note the mention of 'spectrum
survey'. This type of survey happens from time to time, usually kick
started by some visionary in response to a request for information from
some other government agency. Usually, nobody makes a big announcement
about a survey.

Now, think about what has happened to the 6M band, with everyone
channelized on one or two frequencies. Even if some FCC contractor is
intelligent enough to survey the 50 MHz spectrum during peak sporadic E
season, what do you think the results will tell them about spectrum
utilization ?

Although 6M is not really at a frequency that is ripe for poaching at THIS
TIME, the same can't be said about other bands above 50 MHz. Remember the
saying, "Use it or lose it" ?
