3.1 to 3.55 covers a lot of radar frequencies used by the military and FAA for
ATC, surface search and landing aids along with some telemetry.  When I request
spectrum use in that region from FASFACVACAPES I usually end up not getting the
full bandwidth I want due to the large number of other DOD and FAA users
crowded in there.  About 6mo ago I filled out a DoD questionnaire re opposition
of the auction.  I was just one of many many DOD users who did so.

I would not be surprised if the auction doesnt happen or if it does the 5G
users get limited power/bandwidth  have to work around the existing users.
Lots of existing RF infrastructure in there.

Ham is a tiny tiny low power slice.  If our voices are heard we will probably
keep what we have.

I read, somewhere, a few weeks ago, that 3456 would be auctioned in December

military is staying. Are we? Does anybody know?

Yes, what Alex wrote.

This auction was for some 22,000+ 'chunks' (10 MHz, unpaired, if I read
correctly) of spectrum in geographically defined area in the 3.55-3.65 GHz
band. The bidding concluded yesterday.

Excruciating detail available at https://www.fcc.gov/auction/105

As Alex noted _this_ auction does not appear to impact access to amateur
radio's secondary allocation from 3.3-3.5 GHz BUT, the expected future FCC
actions/auctions for 3.1-3.55 GHz remain likely to impact.
