It was great to hear W8ZN on 222 this evening. What was incredible was that Terry answered my SSB CQ for my first QSO  a bit before 2300 UT.  SIgnals peaked at 55 on SSB.  I tried a few long haul tries with K9MRI, W8PAT, and N8WNA. None of them were successful, but a few meteor pings were heard, so things are looking up. I was very encouraged to note that many  midwest stations  were in there making sked attempts and completing quite a few of the attempts!  Some calls lurking around this evening were AJ6T, AA9MY, W8PAT, K9MRI, N1GC, and W5EME.  K9MRI worked about 8 stations and AJ6T was doing awfully well with his 10 watts near Nashville.

I was content to play with the newly fixed antenna and noting that the beam headings are now pretty correct with the repaired power divider. W8ZN is 482 miles and was a good catch on SSB VE3DS is at about 465 miles or so. I tried with N8WNA and W8PAT at 625 and 565 miles but had no success either way.

I am still underwhelmed with FT8, but did hear Jim, N2JMH working K9MRI and others off the back of his antenna. I can't seem to extend my range using FT8, over what I can do on CW. Other stations worked include: WW2Y, WB2SIH, N1YCQ, WZ1V, K1PXE, N1SV, K1DS, N2JMH, N2SLO, KC2KAE, N2SLN, and VE3DS. It sure was a fun night even if the propagation in Northern New England was flat. It seems other parts of the country did better, DX-wise.

Hi All,

Had a blast tonight. Logged 10 stations from EM95 to EN70 to FN43. I heard Les, N1SV many times but never could complete with him, also heard K1DS and W9KXI. I'll have FT8 going the next time. N2JMH and WW2Y win the prize for the BIGGEST signals.

73 all.
