Hey boys and girls, don't forget that this is another Tuesday so anyone
with any sort of 222 MHz gear should be planning to be on the band this
evening. I know it is the dead of winter and the winds are howling and
the snow is blowing around. Your rotator is probably stuck. If your
house is anything like mine, I'll bet your furnace broke. Your fridge
probably died, and your hot water heater just rotted out and warm water
just spilled out all over the cellar. All of these are no excuse to
miss the fun on 222 MHz this evening. The fun starts at around 7PM on
the East Coast, which is 00:00 UT. Look around 222.100 MHz for any
activity and move off the calling frequency when people start showing
up. Many regulars onitor the ON4KST Chat page ( 144/432 MHz region 2)
Here in Mumbo Jumbo Land, it is blowing snow with high winds and
plunging temperatures. I am not sure I will be on. It all depends on
how bad it gets by this evening. I am hoping to be on but it all depends
on whether I can start the generator. I am thankful that I was not
picked by the 222 MHz Activity Committee for the all expenses paid trip
to Beechey Island. The low band POTA operator who agreed to go has left
Temiskiming QC as of this past Friday and must be enjoying the trip
across Labrador with the sled dogs and whale blubber. I can't wait to
hear all the details after the trip.
So please make an attempt to get on the band, make a few contacts, and
deliver some excitement to the 222 MHz band tonight.
