Hello Mike,

I would think that the wattmeter meter might read slightly higher, if you squint really hard. Harmonics are a bit over 20 dB down at worst case, so that is one in a hundred and hardly noticed. If you see a huge amount that seems out of place, you might have an oscillation.  The W6PQL filter/ directional coupler is a handy item that will work up to 500 watts or so with supplied chip caps. Powers of 1000 watts or more requires using teflon coax capacitors to avoid failures. I have used a bunch of them with great results. Loss is under 0.1 dB.

I am working on a Harris 222 amplifier I have had for years. It was marked as a
driver amp. 2 pallets are left in the assembly. My question is without having a
filter on the output will the power on a Bird wattmeter be accurate? This is
showing more power than it should be. This is using a ht to drive the amp. 2
slugs with similar readings. I see W6PQL sells output filters. Mike
