Hi, I'm a new user of WriteLog. I've been in contact with Ron,
K5DJ, and he has answered a lot of my questions. But I still
have a few more and probably will have more later on.
I am about to interface my PC with my rig for SSB/RTTY/PSK31. I
am fairly new to RTTY and PSK31 and have never rigged a voice
keyer up to the rig. During the past few months, I have just
wired the rig's AF out directly to the PC's Line In and the PC's
headphones directly to the rig's AFSK port. Should I use any type
of transformer inline with any of these wires? At both ports? If
only one of them, which one? The rig is a Yaesu FT-757GX which as
far as I know does not support FSK. My other rig is the Elecraft
K2, but will not worry about interfacing it until the SSB option
is shipped (this also does not support FSK). I'm off now to make
the CW interface for the Com port. Thanks.
PS - The friend.ini file needs updated, the name for W1TY should
be Rick and not Dick. He's the one that introduced me to RTTY and
a member of the DX/contesting club that I attend.
