Hi Will

I have installed the PCI 2 serial/1 parallel card from Byterunner. I chose
this over the 4 serial PCI card because I wanted a second parallel port.
Its likely their 4 serial card would also be good, but in any case, assuming
you have a modern PC with PCI slots, I would recommend the PCI rather than
the ISA cards. The PCI card installed easily and takes just a single IRQ.
My system had the usual 2 serial and 1 parallel built into the mainboard,
plus I had a PCI modem card, so before the install my system had COM 1, 2
and 3 plus LPT1. The new card added COM4 and COM5 plus LPT2.

With 2 parallel ports I can have a printer connected on one and CW keying on
the other avoiding an A-B switch. One of my COM ports is an internal modem.
This leaves me 4 COM ports available, 1 for radio control, 1 for packet
cluster TNC, 1 for a multomode TNC leaving me with 1 unused (so far).

If you don't believe you need 2 parallel ports, then I guess the 4 serial
PCI card would be a better choice, however I have not tested it.

New computer designs call for the end of ISA slots!
