Those of you who connect your sound card to the radio for AFSK or SSB have
probably run into hum or ground loop problems. I had solved this problem
using a little homebrew box consisting of some connectors and audio
isolation transformers.

For those of you who are electrically challenged, Radio Shack has a product
that does exactly what you need. Called a Ground Loop Isolator (Cat. No.
270-054), it can be found in the car audio section of the store. It has two
audio connections terminated with RCA plugs on each end. Cost was about
$15.

With two connections, you can use it for isolation to two radios. Or use
one for transmit audio and one for receive.
