I got it now. It was a com port problem in my windows setup.

Raj, gives some good specific advice to the KAM, I have also found on the
Dumb Terminal side that if you are having trouble with the receive that just
clicking on the COM port makes it kick back in as well.
The particular problem that I have is a hardware switch that seems to not
make
very good contact at times, rather than a Writelog problem, but after
monkeying
with the switch and then a Click on the Com port setting and its back to
receive.
