Phil, please post to the reflector how this finally sorts out. I have an
IC-706MKIIG and the CT-17 interface. I got it going OK on COM2, but it
would never work on my "higher" com ports, eg 5-12 provided by my Rocketport
PCI card. I've never been able to figure out why it won't work with the
higher ports. By working, I'm referring essentially to simple freq/band
read/change operations, eg with Writelog or DX4WIN. I do the PTT by a
separate interface.
I have an FT-1000MP that DOES work completely fine with one of the higher
com ports, but I've never had the Icom working on other than one of the
LOWER ports. Anyone else have an Icom on a higher port?
Please let us know if you get interfacing going with higher com ports
through whichever option you end up with.
