I have two '765s used with WL. The CT-17 is too expensive, so I
use two RS232-to-TTL level converters using the MAX232 chip.
I found them at RadioShack.com -- they have a lot of little kits
and this one was called something like a Ham Radio Controller
(can't remember exactly). It has the level converter that fits
inside the shell of a DB-25 connector and a disk with simple rig
control software.

List price was $49, but was discounted to 1/2-price when I
bought it. Works just fine. The circuit is essentially the
same as the level converters described in the ARRL Handbook.

Hello All,

I am confused as usual. I want to do rig control with the IC 765.
Is the Icom CT-17 Cl-V LEVEL CONVERTER what I need?
Or does MFJ make something that will work?
Or what? Any help appreciated.

Tnx es HNY,
Bob, N5RG
