Dennis,
The MAX232A is a direct replacement for the MAX202.
Jameco http://www.jameco.com carries the MAX202 and they appear to be in
stock.
The MAX232 is also a direct replacement -- except that you need to replace
the 4 .1uf caps near the IC with 1uf caps. It actually works with the .1uf
caps it just can't drive the RS232 lines as hard.
