until Wayne's email about being careful how you adjust that .ini time
value, I never realized that was the reason I saw my call come back
missing the first letter.
It would happen so frequently I just assumed it was a decoding problem.
Even though I use FSK, I made sure that I put a space as the first
character in my buffer.

In this contest I did half s&p and half cqing.
I took a lesson from someone who suggested putting a CQ at the end of
their buffer
cq cq bartg de w9ol w9ol cq
While s&p around, I would get tune in late during a cq and just see the
last two instances of a call sign and didn't know if they were answering
someone, but if I saw a CQ at the end it was easy.
Thanks to the person who made that suggestion. Maybe it helped me to a
couple extra q's.
