Has anybody been successful in interfacing a classic TU, like the ST-8000,
to a standard serial port under Windows XP or 2K?
Mine works just fine under Win98SE (dual boot. ) I run MMTTY in one
RttyRite window, and a second window for the 8000. The serial port accepts
its output happily under SE. That's been just great, and I'll likely go
with SE for WPX.
BUT, now that I've at last gotten XP running nicely in a dual boot
partition, with clean CW and well-behaved MMTTY plug-in under XP, I'm stuck
not reading my prized $3000 "DumbTerminal's " output when selected under
TU Type for the second RttyRitewindow..
Anybody know a fix for this or other classic TUs? [I've already tried
editing the INI file line under ports to read Com2=45,n,5,1,p ] I
understand that Win2K/XP is super-strict about the way UARTs operate, just
as it refuses LPT port keying without a special driver..
I'll post a summary of private responses -- if there's an answer.... ?
GL to all in WPX.
