Running XP, plenty of ram. AMD 900mHz.
I run MMtty in WL
I run MMtty standalone.
Use a comport for ptt to a MP is FSK mode.

Never had a pause in MMtty standalone.

I do get that lengthy solid tone in WL if:
I have a number of unanswered CQ's,
or only occasionally
I have a number of rapid qsos during a run.

In XP, there is a feature you can call by ctrl, alt, delete and up pops a
taskmanager. If you choose 'Services', you can see what is using cpu cycles.
WL itself uses a VERY small percentage of cpu cycles
MMTTY also uses a VERY small percentage of cpu cycles

This did surprise me as I expected MMtty to require a major portion of the
cpu while decoding and printing rtty.

The problem IS NOT RF.
I tested this by turning the power down to nothing and xmitting into a dummy
load.
CQing repeatedly would cause it after about 10-15 buffer cq's. It would
reoccur again, but not predictably, the frequency could vary.
I never tried other buffers but will when able but as it has happened to me
using a different buffer, I doubt that it is confined to a specific Fkey but
more related to repetitive transmissions.

In designing any type of construction, no overall dimension can be totaled
correctly after 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The correct total will become
self-evident at 8:15 a.m. on Monday.
