I will be on a panel of SO2R operators at the RTTY Forum
in Dayton this year. My presentation will be centered around
the use of WriteLog running SO2R.

In researching info for my presentation, I'm having trouble with
understanding the operation of WriteLog SO2R RTTY on a single
PC. In particular, I'm confused as to why when operating SO2R
RTTY on a single PC, why only "RTTY Single TX Lockout - Lasts one wins"
is available but "First one wins" is not (it is grayed out).

All of my SO2R RTTY experience with WriteLog has been done
using two separate PC's networked together. In that configuration,
both "Last one wins" and "First one wins" are available and work great.
I normally set "First one wins" for the entire contest and force myself
to hit the ESC key if I need to stop a transmission already in progress
and send on the 2nd radio. I it leave it this way, so it stays
this same the entire contest and I don't get confused as to how it's set.

Can anyone explain why "first one wins" is not available when
running SO2R RTTY on a single PC? Or perhaps it is available
but I've not found how to activate it.

Come see us at the RTTY Forum in Dayton. I think it's at
0930 Saturday morning, but check your program to make sure.

If you have any SO2R RTTY questions or scenarios who would
like to see explained, send me an E-mail and I will try to include it
in the presentation.

Thanks,
Don AA5AU
