I saw this feature in a different light - knowing what serial they issued me
previously I now have a benchmark.

The number should obviously be greater than the last ... if not you can ask
the station to re-issue the previous band(s) number - tedious but helpful.

It also provides me with an idea of how other stations are doing - when
taking the contest "fairly seriously" you get to know the other big guns. I
can instantly "guesstimate" the other stations rate compared to mine. And
it was pretty obvious the bands were not in good shape yesterday afternoon.

The more you use Writelog, the more accustomed you get to it, there are a
lot of differences compared to say CT and Supa Duper (I can only compare
against these two), but it is worth spending time before a contest setting
up the windows and entering "mock" callsigns just to get a feel of it. The
help files are very intuitive and I believe it is possible to "turn off"
this feature, I would take my hat off to SM6SRW for providing these modules
but all of you will get screen glare from my bald head ;-)
