[WriteLog] "can't open sound board"

I was hopeing to play in the upcomeing cw contest, but when I start WL and
open the cw window I get the dreaded "can't open sound board for receive"
message.

It worked fine last week.    Have not changed anything since then.  This
happened once before and that time the problem seemed to go away by itself
and just started working normally.

What can I look at to solve this???
