I have a notebook computer that has an internal sound card built
in that is pretty noisy compared to my other machines. I want to
us it with Writelog and was looking at getting a second sound
card. However it would have to be either PCMCIA or USB. Searching
around I have found a company Edirol (www.edirol.com) that makes
some Audio Input Devices used that offer a stereo line in/out via USB.
These devices are not sound cards but would seem to be perfect for
Writelog use. Line input is definitely preferable to microphone
input for noise immunity reasons. The 2 devices I am looking at are
the UA-1A (16 bit) and the UA-3 (18 bit with volume controls). These
boxes are small and powered by the USB port. Has anyone used these
products?

Sorry if this message is a repeat but I posted it several hours ago
and did not see it appear.

Thanks and 73,
Larry Benko, W0QE
