The last few years, I recorded 48 hour contests using the following
setup:
Format: MPEG Layer-3
Attributes: 16 KBit/s, 11,025 Hz, Mono 2 KB/s

Each hour of recording used 6.998 MB, for a reasonable 336 Megs for
the whole contest. That was on my older Win98 machine.

My new WinXP machine doesn't list MPEG-3 in the format dropdown
box. Why, I don't know, as several of the audio programs on the
machine do decode mp3 audio.

Anyone know how I can get the MPEG-3 on this computer? Alternately,
havs anyone tried any of the other formats that record at relatively low
bandwidth, on the order of 2KB/s?
73,
Barry--
