[WriteLog] K5XD Multikeyer - Doesn't Key rig w/wave files

Help:  I am using K5XD Keyer with Writelog and TS-440 (without rig
control).  I am keying from the left PTT output to the rear ACC input.
Using only one rig.

The rig keys fine when the footswitch is pressed, and I have voice audio
from the mic through the soundboard to the rig.  when I press a function
key to transmit a wave file the rig doesn't key.  I have to press the
footswitch, then press the function key to get the wave file to
transmit.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?  I'm pulling my hair out, and I'm certain
it's going to be something simple!
