I used the "other" CW decoder display a couple years ago in a CW contest
just as a test and was SURPRISED at how well it could copy. Often, if I
missed something I could just glance at the display and there it was,
decoded better than my brain had done! I don't remember how I got it to
work, so can't offer any help setting it up. I plan to get into CW
contesting when I get a round tuit, and expect it will help when I do.

You can't just "click" on calls there, as I recall (?).

That's what I understand. Given that I had to read and retype the
call from rttyrite a lot, that's not a major negative.
And none of the exchange was clickable, either.

I'll also try a second soundcard (maybe in a different computer) and
another totally separate decoder.

I'm thinking about the Soundblaster USB MP3+, if it'll work in the
same computer as a second audio path. And I have three candidates for
separate decoding software, MIXW, cwGet, and WD6CNF's CW decoder
program.

I am reminded of N1RCT's attempt to work CW WAS using a KAM as a
decoder. If I'd found AR in SS, I'd have done CW WAS in 18 hours.
