I don't think the rules have changed in a good long time - my logs as far back as 1999 show this same exchange. If KH6 and KL7 are sending serial numbers, just log HI or AK as appropriate and keep going. And maybe tell them they should be sending their state instead. From www.arrl.org: >4.
