Greyed-out areas are invalid key combinations. Shift-1, for example, is "!" on
the USA keyboard. Other key combinations are
trapped by Windows for Windows functions.

Eric--

I am unclear about one thing.

In some areas of the shortcut chart there is no entry, while in some areas
there is no entry and the area is grayed out. Is there a difference between
the two areas?

For instance--halfway down on the fourth page in the Key column where
! @ # $ % ^ & appear the (plain) area has definitions for many of these keys.
But in the Shift and the ALT-Shift-key columns the entire area is grayed out.
But in the CTL-key and ALT-key there are just no definitions.

So, is there a difference between blank areas and blank areas that are
grayed out? If not, then why are some blank areas grayed out and some not?

Thanks--John
