Using a footswitch would work but I can only bring so many Kilos of luggage 
and Anders SM6CNN solved it for me.
For future reference if anyone wonders how to solve this issue my free 
translation of Anders mail from Swedish to English will help.

"Hi Magnus!
You can use a F-button that you have recorded a "empty" message on. It will 
be your PTT button, just press Esc when your finished talking "

Now, instead of doing this I found out that to press a F-button where there 
is no recorded message works also and it works better because there is no 
background noise. It will bring up the error message that there is no 
message found and it will PTT untill I press Escape.
