[WriteLog] Problem recording WAV files

I'm pressing Shift-Fkey to record on the fly, but it's not working.  
Just replays the existing message when I hit the Fkey.  I have the 
Wavefiles directory set in the Wavefiles Locate button in the Ports 
menu and have the SSB button set in the Buffers box, where each 
buffer is labelled <msg4.wav>, etc.

What might I be doing wrong?
