There are two different issues being mixed together here:

1) All mode SO2R capability for DX4win and Writelog

2) Support of a paddle by the software without an external keyer

Two different issues.

For Writelog to support a paddle's use via the software, you must use
the W5XD keyer. That device will allow you to do SO2R with Writelog
*ONLY* for all modes.

DX4win does not support the use of a paddle via the software. You
would need to use an external keyer along with a device like the DXD to
do SO2R with DX4win and this setup would also work with Writelog, N1MM,
CT, TR, NA etc.

Using an external keyer is not a negative thing.
