Got back to using my contest setup after two years away. I thought I had it
all going OK, but quickly realized that I was having a problem whenever I
aborted a CW message using the <esc> key.
Here's what's happening. When Writelog first starts up, my setup reverts to
'old W5XD keyer' and I have to go in every time and change to the MK-1100. At
start-up neither the hand key nor the CW messages key the transmitter. If I
toggle the left-right switch on the speed control keying works OK. If I abort
a message using the <esc> key Keying is again inoperative, but toggling the
left-right switch restres it. I went into help looking for an answer. Help
says use <ctl-C> to abort a CW message, but it has no effect.
I also noticed that when in timed CQ mode stopping the CQ by making an entry in
the call field would also lock up keying, so I couldn't use this mode.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance, Wayne N1WR, Lusby, MD
I'm using ver 10.54C.
