[WriteLog] USB on ComPort 4

Anyone

After purchasing a USB to RS-232 serial interface (USB rev 2.0) from
WriteLog the computer assigned comport 4.  However, now the computer does
not key the Icom 746pro.  

Knowing somethings about a Dell XPS 400 computer and the Icom 746pro, I am
stumped.  Can anyone come to my rescue?
